Data Update 2

 Data Update #2

1. The Lead: The median duration of marriage in Canada dropped significantly between 1970 and 1991, falling from 13.3 years to 10.8 years, couples were divorcing more quickly.

2. The Excel Workbook

3. Explanation: This workbook contains two worksheets, raw data and slices. This spreadsheet shows that the median duration of marriages has dropped sharply from 13.3 years in 1970 to 10.8 years in 1991. It tracks the length of marriages among Canadians over a span of twenty years, visualizing the downward trend over time. This reflects the changing social values towards marriage and raises questions for research to understand the reasons behind the decreasing duration of marriages.

  1. Hi Feix, you have done a really good job with the data update. I would really like to know the reason for choosing this specific time period. Overall It seems like a well organized data set.

  2. Hi Felix, I think you did a nice job on this update, but feel like you can change the time you are focusing on. In your slice, you are focusing on 1970-1991, but you have the data from 1970-2020, I think you can compare the data to every five years the result should be more interesting than having 20 straight years numbers.

  3. Hey Felix, very interesting choice in data. I think that you could have narrowed your data set down a bit to be more relevant to your lead if you filtered for just Canada rather than having all the other provinces there.

  4. Hey Felix, I like how you managed such a huge dataset. You have a clear explanation of the slice of data you chose, also your opinions on the matter which I think is quite insightful. Your lead has every element of a good lead, and it is straight to the point. I really like it.
